Biography
Octaviano Rogés is a standout media composer from Southern California. Starting his composition career in 2022, he has gained acclaim for his works such as “A Primera Vista del Pacifico,” performed at Segerstrom Concert Hall in Costa Mesa, California.
Octaviano scored his first independent film, “La Máscara de Emiliano” in 2024 where he collaborated with Director Roze JC Zepeda to bring the tragic story of a love affair between two Mexican historical figures to life. He received much acclaim in particular for his song “Nuestro Amor, No Mas.”
Since then, Octaviano and Roze JC Zepeda have remained close collaborators, with Octaviano scoring “Body and The Blood,” and “Papa Piñata” since their first collaboration. Throughout Octaviano and Roze’s collaboration, their Mexican heritage has played an enormous role in forming the stories and music
He also has gained recognition for his Blues score, “Juk” (2026), pulling from his extensive background in Blues and early Rock music. A standout song from this film is “Freedom (Got Away),” with a show-stopping on screen performance by Gary Javier.
A Southern California native and proud Hispano-American musician, Octaviano credits his mother with his musical ability. His early exposure to Rock groups such as The Beatles and Latin-American Folk music greatly inspired him to pursue the path of music and composing. His passion for film came from countless family movie nights, and combined with his love of music, culminated in a blossoming composer who seeks to tell great stories through music.
